Bentley (Ringhaw Whisky Mac) 29/06/1999 till 27/02/2014

It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of our much loved dog Bentley on the 27/02/2014. He was a very special, calm and interesting dog and well balanced. He was much loved and will be greatly missed. His health has been slowly deteriating over the last couple of years but suffered a rapid decline in the last few months and was a frequent visitor to the vets as well as ongoing hydrotherapy to build strength in the front of his body to compensate for his failing back legs.

In his final days movement became very difficult and his interest in food which had always been exceptional, fell sharply as did his condition. It was agreed with the vets that in his best interest and on welfare grounds the kindest thing was to put him to sleep. He had his favorite KFC meal for his tea and for his final breakfast . A very sad day deeply felt by all that had cared for him.

He has been buried on the farm in his favorite spot under the tree where he spent many happy hours with us in the back garden. God rest his soul.

Bentley came to live with us on the farm on the 19th August 2006. He was a Labrador Retriever whose full name is Ringshaw Whisky Mac. He enjoyed life on the farm and loved to speed around the open space and play with our other dogs. He had aged and slowed up quite a bit over the last few years. He did not like getting up in the mornings as he quite liked his bed. Bentley got on well with the horses and the other dogs. He quite liked going out to the seaside (snacks and roast chicken mainly) but did have a paddle and swim. He was having hydrotherapy to help with his arthritis for the last couple of years of his life.. He celebrated his 14th Birthday with us in 2013 with a special cake and his favorite KFC meal..

Bentley taking it easy.

Bentley does love his food and the extras and snacks go down very well! The pictures below show him working on a tub of cream and running of with the box of pigs ears. The last one shows his interest in the meat bones that were just put in the bin.

Bentley does like to chill out and the sofa's are one of his favorite places to do this especially in the snug fur covers or on them.
